Shubhra Bansal

Dr. Shubhra Bansal is an Associate Professor at Purdue University with a joint appointment in School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Materials Engineering. Her research interests include developing stable and sustainable materials for Optoelectronic/Semiconductor Devices and Heterogeneous Integration/Advanced Packaging. She completed her undergraduate studies in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology- Roorkee, India. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Before joining Purdue, she worked as a faculty at University of Nevada Las Vegas, and in industry at GE Global Research. She has also served as a Senior Technical Advisor for President Obama’s SunShot Initiative at the Department of Energy. Her honors prestigious NSF CAREER Award; and NASA and DOE faculty fellowships. Her research is currently funded by National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, DARPA and Department of Defense. She currently serves as the Associate Editor of Solar Energy Journal, IEEE- Journal of Photovoltaics. Outside of work, she is a busy mother of two boys.

Faharia is a Ph.D. student in the School of Materials Engineering at Purdue University since Fall 2023. Prior to joining Purdue, he received his Bachelor’s in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2022. His research focuses on analyzing the electro-thermo-mechanical reliability of interconnects for heterogeneous integration and advanced semiconductor packaging. Previously, he worked on density-functional theory-based simulations to investigate the electronic, magnetic, and optical properties of wide-bandgap semiconductors. Outside the lab, he enjoys reading, watching TV shows, and traveling to new places.
Haohan Guo

Haohan Guo is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University since Fall 2023. His research focuses on electro-thermo-mechanical reliability of sub-10 micron pitch interconnects for semiconductor packaging. He graduated from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology with a M.S. degree in Energy and Power Engineering. His likes skating and skiing.

Karthika Haridas is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University since Fall 2023. She holds a M.S. in Chemistry from Manipal Institute of Technology (India) and B.S. in Chemistry from Sree Kerala Varma College affiliated with Calicut University (India). Prior to joining Purdue, she also worked as Project Associate at the Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering, IISC on 3D Heterogeneous Integrated Micro-Nano Scale Devices. She enjoys reading books.

Huilong joined Purdue as a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering in Spring 2023 and his research focuses on development of low-Dimensional (2D, Nanoparticles, Quantum Dots) Lead-Free Halide Perovskites. Huilong obtained his B.S. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China) in Biomedical Engineering and M.S. from Chongqing Medical University (China). He loves to sketch.

Manaswini Bhamidimarri is a Ph.D. student in the School of Materials Engineering at Purdue University since Fall 2024. She holds an MTech from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and a BTech from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur, India. Prior to joining Purdue, she also worked as a Project Associate at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore on MXene synthesis and characterization. She enjoys singing and crocheting.

Yu Ching joined Purdue University as a Ph.D. student in Materials Engineering in Fall 2025. His research focuses on Cu hybrid bonding and electromigration reliability in sub-2-µm Cu redistribution layers (RDLs). He received his B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. Outside of research, he enjoys playing basketball and weightlifting.

Kyle Wiegand is a junior studying Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. Originally from Frederick, Maryland, Kyle has experience in manufacturing and production, as well as working with microelectronic systems. He is currently researching developments for Pb-free solders, with a particular focus on the Bi-Sn compositions. He is a SCALE student.
